Your Voice in Village Decision‑Making
Since the beginning of Mayor Ashley Schumaker's administration in 2024, we have consistently asked for feedback from the community and used that information to drive our actions. This has taken place through in-person meetings, emails, online surveys, informal conversations at events, the store, walking etc. It is important to understand that change takes time. We are committed to building a strong foundation and making long-lasting changes that will have a positive impact for years to come.
This section will be dedicated to encouraging residents to use their voice and share their ideas and opinions through formal channels. In addition to the surveys below, you can always attend a meeting, request a private meeting, email [email protected],
Revitalizing Business in the Village
The Village of Franklinville is working hard to retain and attract businesses, and we need your opinion and help. Over the years, several businesses have come and gone for one reason or another, and—like many rural communities—we face real challenges: online shopping, big‑box competition, high operating costs, aging buildings, and changing consumer habits.
Local government can recruit businesses, improve infrastructure, and support entrepreneurs--but we can only do so much. The long-term success of any business depends on the community actually using and supporting it.
Survey #1- Resident Voice- Local Business Survey
- Investors and entrepreneurs are asking: What types of businesses would truly thrive here? Your feedback will help answer that.
Survey #2- Current/Interested Franklinville Business Owner Survey
- We want to hear directly from the people who invest in our community, operate storefronts, manage commercial spaces, and are considering new opportunities here.
Previous Surveys:
- 6/14-6/28: Community Policing Survey- 101 responses, up from 89 in 2025. Still accepting letters of support for grant.
