This past week, TBA juniors and seniors attended a powerful mock DUI/distracted driving demonstration. This educational event was designed to show the real-life consequences of impaired and distracted driving, and the impact unsafe choices can have on individuals, families, and our community. We hope this experience made a lasting impression on our students and reinforces the importance of making safe, responsible decisions behind the wheel. SRO Sergeant Heineman and Chief Cintron participated in this drill and helped bring this message to life. These drills play an important role in demonstrating to young drivers the very real consequences of impaired and distracted driving. During the simulation, the junior and senior classes were able to witness firsthand the response to a serious motor vehicle accident, including vehicle extrication, patient assessment and care, and the potentially life-altering injuries that can result from unsafe driving decisions. The goal is to educate and raise awareness so that students understand the importance of making safe and responsible choices behind the wheel. Participating Agencies: Village of Franklinville Police Department, Franklinville, Volunteer Fire Department, Machias Volunteer Fire Department, Farmersville Fire Department, Trans Am Ambulance Services, Inc and Mercy Flight.
