Mental Health Crisis (non-emergency)

Mental Health (MH) and substance use disorder (SUD) Outpatient Counseling Services are open to all residents of Cattaraugus County. Detailed information is available below and on their website.
The Counseling Centers accept Medicaid, Medicaid Managed Care, Medicare, and most insurances.
No insurance? We can refer you for assistance in applying. If you are unable to obtain insurance, we have a sliding scale fee for individuals who are uninsured, based upon a person's income and household size.

MH Outpatient Treatment and Recovery Services are available at the
  • Olean Counseling Center
  • North County Counseling Center
  • Salamanca Counseling Center

Services include:
  • Assessment and evaluations.
  • Nursing/health assessments,
  • Crisis Services
  • Individual counseling for children, adolescents, and adults,
  • Group counseling,
  • Medication/psychiatric evaluations,
  • Forensic services, and
  • Referrals.

New Patient Information
To schedule a first appointment with the Salamanca Counseling Center or North County Counseling Center, please call those offices directly. 
For new appointments at the Olean Counseling Center, we offer Walk-In Intake Clinic hours. During this walk-in clinic, you will meet with our Engagement Specialist who will help you get set up with our services and then you will meet with one of our therapists that day to assess your needs. Please plan to be here for the appointments for about 1 1/2 hrs. **Wait times for the appointment vary, based on the number of individuals who attend that day.
Hours are as follows:
  • Mondays: 1:30 pm - 5:00 pm
  • Tuesdays: 8:30 am - 10:00 am and 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm
  • Thursdays: 8:30 am - 11:00 am
**Please note that cancellation notices are posted on the Department's Facebook page.
 
SUD Outpatient Services are available for adults only, at:
  • Olean Counseling Center
Services include:
  • Assessment and evaluations;
  • Nursing/health assessments,
  • Individual counseling,
  • Group counseling,
  • Medication/psychiatric evaluations,
  • Forensic services,
  • Referrals, and
  • Continuing Care.
**At this time we are unable to accept straight Medicare for SUD services. Most Medicare Advantage Plans are accepted, call for more information.
