​5/12/2025- Important: Seek Alternate Routes for Smooth Travel

Please be aware of the below road/lane closures that will affect traffic at various times throughout the day.

*********Please avoid these streets and seek alternate routes. *********

  • Chestnut St will be closed to all through traffic. Local traffic only will be allowed as this will be down to one lane all day. Please avoid Chestnut St.
 
  • Local traffic will be allowed on Cherry, Howard, and Washburn, but should be accessed from the Pine St end.
 
  • Crestview & Cemetery Hill Rd traffic must use Howard St from Pine
 
  • Maple Ave will be closed from First to Chestnut. Access to Maple will be through First Ave only.

Please use caution on the streets, drive slowly, and treat our contractors and public works team with respect as they work to improve street conditions.

Please avoid these streets and seek alternate routes.

First Ave, Riverside Dr, and Third Ave- CLOSED to through traffic
Elm St and Chestnut St- 1 lane of traffic and very congested at times.

5/7/2025- No Parking & Street Paving

The purpose of this post is to remind residents about street paving that will take place in the village beginning tomorrow (Thursday May 8th).
Affected Streets: Elm, Chestnut, 1st, 3rd, Riverside
What We Need from You
By 8pm Wednesday night (May 7th), all vehicles parked on the side of the road and grass area between the sidewalk and the road MUST be moved. Failure to do so may result in vehicle damage, a parking ticket, and the risk of having your vehicle towed.
Please be patient, respectful to workers, and use caution while work is being completed.
Current Schedule:
May 7th- Contractor will be bringing in equipment.
May 8th & 9th- Streets will get milled
Monday May 12th thru Friday May 16th- Paving will be completed.
Details of Work: Milling & Paving at varying depths.
Traffic Impact: When work is taking place, streets will be closed to thru traffic. The contractor will have a flagger set up. Temporary no parking signs will be placed Wednesday afternoon (May 7th).
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as our team works diligently to improve our street conditions.

Tomorrow (Tuesday 4/29) is regular trash and large item pickup day.
NO RECYCLABLES WILL BE COLLECTED TOMORROW.
Please keep your recyclables away from the curb and stored until next pickup (Tuesday 5/6).

The purpose of this communication is to share updates regarding street paving that will take place in the village this spring.

Location: Elm, Chestnut, 1st, 3rd, Riverside

Tentative Schedule:
- May 7th- Contractor will be bringing in equipment.
- May 8th & 9th- Streets will get milled
- Monday May 12th thru Friday May 16th- Paving will be completed.

At this time, Elm Street will be first, but the order is up to the contractor.

Details of Work: Milling & Paving at varying depths.

​Traffic Impact: When work is taking place, streets will be closed to thru traffic. The contractor will have a flagger set up. No parking signs will be placed & we will use our communication outlets to ensure residents are aware and the street is free of cars when work needs to be done.
